    Very good

Convenience to the office I was visiting.

Staff in restaurant appear relatively inexperienced (delivered main course and forgot starters).

Nice location, good staff, good food, comfortable rooms.

The price of £95 excl breakfast was rather excessive.

    Fabulous

We stayed at Cranage Hall as we were visiting Chester and the hotel was fairly close. We booked late and got a good price for bed and breakfast. The breakfasts were excellent however the dinner menu was quite restrictive. The leisure facilities were first class and the staff were extremely helpful and efficient. This hotel is listed as 4 star but other than the leisure facilities it is more like a Travel Lodge and I would rate it 2 stars.

We made the mistake of staying on a Saturday night when there was a wedding taking place which during the day was not a problem. During the night however we actually thought there was a function room above our bedroom as the noise of the music and people singing, dancing and shouting was so loud. It turned out it was just another bedroom with idiots staying. We had no sleep that night with the noise and people banging on our bedroom door trying to find their rooms. We spoke to staff the following day who were helpful and we eventually received complimentary meals however this did not compensate for our "lost" night and feeling very tired the next day.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Our room overlooked the countryside, was nice seeing the cows in the field. Enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was good and plentiful.

It is a very clean hotel, lovely decor. The bar is expensive but the food is fabulous!

    The drinks are expensive

Great countryside location but very noisy on a Saturday night as there was a wedding going on until 2am which spoilt our stay.

This is our 2nd Visit back to the cranage hall hotel .... and it was amazing again : )

    Fabulous

The staff were all outstanding - polite, helpful and willing to go that extra mile. To be honest I have never stayed in a hotel where all the staff were so good! Secondly the breakfast was without doubt the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel and I have stayed in a lot. We enjoyed our stay.

I think the rooms could do with a bit of updating although they were clean and comfortable. My parents had a faulty tap and a broken toilet seat but we did mention this on checkout. We didn't feel it was anything to complain about as it was just a maintenance issue.

Double bed was very small, obvoiusly prepared as a single room, towels only for one person in the bathroom. But worst: they wanted my creditcard for any charges during our stay. When we checked out, they said nothing will be charged, room was prepaid. 5 days later they had cahrged the room twice!! Reception was not friendly and obviously incompetent!

    The breakfast was ok

Hotel reception weren't very welcoming. The room looked nothing like the photos on the website, we were put in a really old room. Wallpaper was coming off the wall and the hot tap constantly dripped. Bed was tiny and uncomfortable, you rolled together into the middle. Walls were that thin the person in the next room who was snoring all night kept me awake. We were on the ground floor and had people walking past our bedroom window as we were trying to get ready. When we went down to breakfast I was told it wasn't included in our rate - I said yes it was, she called reception then said follow me, no apology. Basically wouldn't go back if you paid me to.

It was terrible, apart from the location

The room had cracked dirty tiles, peeling wallpaper, lumpy bed. Waited 20 mins in the bar for service and left.

The quality of the food both the evening meal and the breakfast were excellant. The hotel facilities, pool and spa were well maintained and the hotel bedrooms were nicely decorated.

The very easy access from the M6 and the pleasant drive through the Cheshire lanes made this hotel perfect for our overnight stay for a family party in nearby Goostrey. The room was well equipped and comfortable and the staff were most helpful.

    Nothing. The place was horrific!

I booked a double room and still have my confirmation but they gave us a twin room and wouldn't change it. The hotel pictures do not represent where the guests stay. I have stayed in better travel lodges than this place. The shower ran either too hot or too cold. The amenities were basic at best and the place is falsely advertised as the only time you are in the nice bit of the hotel which is advertised is when you check in at reception.
